A garden that might be of interest but is only open by appointment only is Wudston House, Wedhampton, Devizes.
The garden of Wudston House was started in 2010 following completion of the house. It consists, inter alia, of formal gardens around the house, a perennial meadow, pinetum and an arboretum. Nick Macer and James Hitchmough (who pioneered flower meadows at the 2012 Olympic Park) have been extensively involved in aspects of the garden, which is still developing.
Wudston House will be open on Sunday 27th August from 2pm-5pm. Numbers are limited so an early booking is recommended. Admission is £10.00 to include a homemade tea. Further information and booking details can be found at the NGS website, see below.
Visit to RHS Wisley – Sunday 10th September 2017
Corsham Gardeners Society have arranged a visit to RHS Wisley on 10th September which will include the Flower Show. They have kindly offered Chippenham Allotment Society Members the opportunity to join them.
Wisley is a garden for all seasons with a fruit field, summer displays and mixed borders, the rose gardens, glasshouses, trials fields etc. There is a cafe and restaurant, plant centre, shop and picnic areas.
The coach will leave Newlands Road, Corsham at 8.30am and leave Wisley at 5.00pm.
